Smithsonian Student Travel enables high school students to deepen their knowledge and cultural awareness of the world through immersive travel and D.C.-based summer programs. Alongside like-minded peers, experienced trip leaders, and local Smithsonian Student Travel experts, students participate in engaging, educational, and adventurous activities as they experience the world through the Smithsonian lens.

We offer two types of summer programs: Smithsonian Student Journeys and Smithsonian On Campus. Our Student Journeys are traveling programs that take students to destinations in the U.S. and around the world. Smithsonian On Campus programs are based in Washington, D.C., and give participants the opportunity to take a deeper dive into specific seminar themes of their choosing.

All programs that include Washington, D.C., are contingent on the reopening of Smithsonian Institution museums.
